    IMPORTANT! Due to a change in Florida law, your child can no longer receive routine health care services at their school clinic, including routine screenings, unless you consent in writing beforehand. If you wish for your child to receive health care services at school, please complete the HEALTH CONSENT FORM located at the front office. Services requiring consent include but are not limited to first aid, emergency care, health appraisals, nursing assessment, health counseling, referral and follow-up, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, health education, and health consultations.

    The Escambia County School District arranges transportation and other services by referring to the address on file at your child's school. Please help us maintain accurate and timely service for your child, and ensure that we are able to contact you in the event of an emergency, by keeping your address and phone number current at your child's school.

    early release day - Wednesday, November 3

    In order to offer our teachers and staff regular opportunities for professional development, the school district has scheduled three early release dates for students during the 2021-2022 school year. The second of these three scheduled dates will occur on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. The school day will begin at its regularly scheduled time, but students will be dismissed from school at 1:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served to all students. Bus transportation will be provided. Below is the bell schedule for Wednesday, November 3, 2021:

    8:30 - 9:25 a.m. - Second period

    9:30 - 10:22 a.m. - Sixth period

    10:27 - 11:19 a.m. - Seventh period

    11:24 - 1:20 p.m. - Fifth period

    A lunch - 11:24 - 11:49

    B lunch - 11:53 - 12:18

    C lunch - 12:22 - 12:47

    D lunch - 12:51 - 1:16

    *Students report back to fifth period following D lunch. The dismissal bell will ring at 1:30 p.m.

    Teacher of the Year 2023

    Barbie Spears

    Ms. Barbie Spears, theater teacher, as well as a Booker T. Washington High School graduate, is our 2023 Teacher of the Year!

    Nominated and selected by our faculty, Ms. Spears goes above and beyond for her students and her coworkers. She is the first to offer advice, to collaborate on lessons, and to offer a helping hand in all situations. Ms. Spears makes it a priority to develop relationships with all of her students which results in a positive and productive learning environment. She is dedicated to doing everything she can to help all of her students learn, including our very first virtual theater production of Beauty and the Beast in Spring 2021. Her commitment to her students' success is evident in her love for teaching. Congratulations, Ms. Spears!

    Chromebook Information for Incoming Freshmen and New Students

    All incoming freshmen and new students will be issued a Chromebook at the start of the 2021/2022 school year.

    In order for a student to receive a Chromebook, his or her parents must complete the Chromebook Contract and view the Chromebook Contract film clip. Both items are linked below:

    Suite 360 is a new resource available to parents and students in ECSD. It assists parents and students in developing knowledge concerning social and emotional learning.
