    mandatory consent for school health services

    IMPORTANT! Due to a change in Florida law, your child can no longer receive routine health care services at their school clinic, including routine screenings, unless you consent in writing beforehand. If you wish for your child to receive health care services at school, please complete the HEALTH CONSENT FORM located at the front office. Services requiring consent include but are not limited to first aid, emergency care, health appraisals, nursing assessment, health counseling, referral and follow-up, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, health education, and health consultations.

    Parents, stay informed!

    The Escambia County School District arranges transportation and other services by referring to the address on file at your child's school. Please help us maintain accurate and timely service for your child, and ensure that we are able to contact you in the event of an emergency, by keeping your address and phone number current at your child's school.

    Make sure that all contact and mailing information is up-to-date. Contact our data clerk at tauthement@ecsdfl.us to update contact information.

    Monitor student progress by setting up a parent portal account in Focus. 

    If your student is absent, submit an absence verification form to our attendance clerk Ms. Bissett, kbissett@ecsdfl.us

    Teen driving and alcohol awareness

    semester 1 exam information

    Semester 1 Exams are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, December 14th. 

    All exam days begin at 8:30 a.m. 

    Tuesday, December 14th will be a full day of school.

    On Wednesday and Thursday, December 15th and 16th, students will dismiss at 12:10 p.m.

    On Friday, December 17th, students will dismiss at 1:20 p.m.

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for students on all exam days, regardless of the dismissal time. 

    Students must complete the semester exam in order to earn credit for the course. Students who do not complete the exam will not earn a passing grade or credit, which will impact the student’s GPA.

    • Tuesday, December 14
      • 4th period exam, dismissal at 3:10 p.m.
    • Wednesday, December 15
      • 1st period and 5th period exams, dismissal at 12:10 p.m.
    • Thursday, December 16
      • 2nd and 3rd period exams, dismissal at 12:10 p.m.
    • Friday, December 17
      • 6th and 7th period exams, dismissal at 1:20 p.m.

    *Students return to school on Tuesday, January 4, 2022*

    Teacher of the Year 2023

    Barbie Spears

    Ms. Barbie Spears, theater teacher, as well as a Booker T. Washington High School graduate, is our 2023 Teacher of the Year!

    Nominated and selected by our faculty, Ms. Spears goes above and beyond for her students and her coworkers. She is the first to offer advice, to collaborate on lessons, and to offer a helping hand in all situations. Ms. Spears makes it a priority to develop relationships with all of her students which results in a positive and productive learning environment. She is dedicated to doing everything she can to help all of her students learn, including our very first virtual theater production of Beauty and the Beast in Spring 2021. Her commitment to her students' success is evident in her love for teaching. Congratulations, Ms. Spears!

    Chromebook Information for Incoming Freshmen and New Students

    All incoming freshmen and new students will be issued a Chromebook at the start of the 2021/2022 school year.

    In order for a student to receive a Chromebook, his or her parents must complete the Chromebook Contract and view the Chromebook Contract film clip. Both items are linked below:
